ISLAMIC ART

I just had to add a section of the beautiful art we saw for any art lovers out there. Above is one of the rooms in the Islamic Art center filled with these gorgeous ancient rugs from hundreds of years ago.  The book was a Koran written in the 8th century on gold leaf.

The large plate has the word 'God' written in Arabic and was found almost intact from about 600 AD.  The other picture was taken in the "Blue Mosque, but doesn't do it justice.
