We got to our Botswana lodge and went on a river animal spotting. I was pretty blown away by all the African animals plus the plethora of birds just on one stretch of the river. There are just tons of elephants and one of the most exciting things happened unexpectedly. We were just sitting and taking pictures and one of the largest herds started gathering at the shore, not that far from our boat. We witnessed about 50 elephants, even babies forge the Chobe river and swim to the other side. The Chobe is NOT a small river! The babies hung on to the tails ahead of them, and made the crossing. Even our guide said she had never seen that large of a group do this. All then pictures were taken with
My little point and shoot. We were that close!
